We will share with you our fabulous work experience in Investec. Investec is a distinctive specialist bank and asset manager founded in South Africa in 1974. They are located at 2 Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7QP.

When we arrived at Investec we met Ms Robbie who was our Training Manager. She is Social Investment Manager. She welcomed us very well and presented us the programme for these three days.

In a bank like Investec there are many departments of which we had the chance to discover three of them. Daily during these three days we were with different people who did their studies in France. In fact, we were with Guillaume Metzger in Internal Audit, Emile Dunand in Group Risk and Jean-Daniel Mariton in Power and Infrastructure Finance.

It was really interesting because with Emile we worked all day on Excel and after that we understand that this area of the bank is really important. With Guillaume, we did research about Investec but the moment that was really interesting for us was when he spoke about current affairs. They must all be aware of different departments within Investec in order to be ready in all situations. With Jean-Daniel we did research into the projects including energy and especially renewable energy.

We think that working in London in the future can be a really good idea. Also, having any degree in the UK enables you to go down almost any route. Whereas, in France it seems, the degree you do is the field of work you’re in for life.

During these three days, we learned lots of things about the working world in general in England and more precisely about Investec. This experience encouraged us to continue our studies. Thank you Investec for this fabulous experience.
