I would like to present you the company where Shaheda and I did our work experience for 3 days namely AXA. First of all, I will talk to you about these 3 days at AXA Assistance. AXA is present in many countries. It was amazing! I had the opportunity to meet the director in marketing and also in human resources. Thanks to Mrs. LE BON, Ms MAHAUD and Ms MORELLI, I met people in internal communication, marketing, publicity, accountancy, people working in the medical side, and even an amazing nurse! I can't explain to you how the people are nice and enjoyable in this company. They listened to people when they needed help, it was really great! The last day, a journalist who works for “France Culture” came in the company to do a documentary about our project. She is very nice.
My biggest challenge during the internship was to translate the vocabulary of business. Although I am comfortable in English, words such as “syndicat” or “jurist” were a little bit hard to translate or even to explain. But Shaheda and I have a good knowledge of Spanish; this language helped us to understand us very often. Well obviously, the people working in this company helped me a lot to explain to Shaheda about Axa's aim, their rules in the company and also its functioning.
The thing that impressed me most was the energy which was present in this company. Moreover, I talked to a lady and she told me that if a person was traveling and if she had an accident, AXA's people had a duty to help all injured persons even if they are not all AXA Assistance clients. I think young people believe that companies only think about turnover. This is not wrong, but this example shows the human side. They have not tried to hide the negative side of work, for example the difficulties of working together with looking after a young family. Their professionalism, their reliability, and their teamwork are very amazing! The lastly the leader of each team always ensures the well-being of each member. At AXA, I was expecting to understand the business but they made me live it in reality!
I would like to say a big thank you to AXA mainly for their hospitality and all the people who were here to help me during our project: “Ambitious Abroad”.
