Our work experience

Our training took place at a dentist. The practice was in Place de la Nation in Paris. It was created by the father of the Doctor Vazeille 10 years ago and when her father retired, Doctor Vazeille took his place as a dentist.

 

The morning when we arrived at the training venue, Doctor Vazeille warmly welcomed us with her assistants. They were very nice and understandable. Doctor Vazeille offered to let us visit her office and all areas of the firm. We proceeded to wear gowns for hygiene purposes. We went to visit the treatment room which contained several instrument like strawberries and salive vacuum. We separated into three groups. We went into the room where there was a steriliser that sterilizes all the instruments used and lasts up to one hour in the X-ray developer. In fact, they were four containers in each developing box, there was a liquid in each containers. The first liquid is filled with a liquid called a developer the second liquid is water. The third is a liquid fixative. And the fourth is water too. It's required that the X-ray goes in these four liquids. After that, we found the file for each person to see where we are for treatment. Then, we discarded all products used by Doctor Vazeille and replaced with a new one.

 

Horia, one of the assistants, explained us various tasks such as managing appointments and preparing the instruments for the dentist, but also sterilize all the instruments which touched the patient like month spatula and strawberries. We learned how to make teeth moulds, descaling and devitalize teeth. We helped the dentist during a root canal and we sucked the saliva of the patient with an aspirator. Also, we made a print of our own teeth which we took home.
